The company has a solid financial position with revenues of RMB 54 billion in 2020 (almost $9 billion) and net profit of over million. The company claims to have around 12 GW of module manufacturing capacity as at the end of 2020. This compares to the less than 3 GW of production capacity for SunPower, a market leader in solar technology. LONGi has a significant cost advantage over other Chinese module manufacturers. This is largely because of their scale and the low labor costs.

Some Chinese manufacturers may have low quality in some industries but solar modules are definitely not one of them. LONGi, Trina Solar, Jinko Solar, Canadian Solar (despite the name, actually a Chinese-owned company) are the world’s largest and most technologically advanced manufacturers of solar panels. One of the only things you could potentially criticize about LONGi is their commitment to the US market. They do not yet have a large network of local installers for their product and so it can be difficult to get installation help at home.
