Our Inside Sales Department makes it easy for homeowners to get a quote without feeling like they have to sign right away. About company
Since it started in 2008, SolarMax Technology has become a leader in its field by coming up with new ways to make solar energy more accessible and affordable for homes and businesses in California. Our 165,000-square-foot facility in Riverside, California, is where we design and put together our best solar panels. It’s also where we’ve planned and carried out more than 12,000 custom installations.
One thing you should know about SolarMax is that we are always looking for new ways to move the industry forward and make sure that everyone has access to clean, renewable energy. We’re especially proud of our many firsts in the industry, such as:.
2016: SolarMax is now the first solar company in California to design, engineer, and put together its own high-end brand of solar panels at its corporate headquarters in Riverside, CA.
2016: We launch our FLEX Energy Storage System, which is the first fully integrated energy storage solution in the industry that has been approved by LADWP.
SolarMax SMX Panels is one of only four US solar panel companies in the world to get a top-tier ranking for reliability in 2017 and 2018.
SolarMax may have started in California, but the word is quickly spreading around the world about how reliable and affordable our solutions are. We are now the biggest U.S. solar developer in China. We do this by offering the Chinese market design, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), operations and maintenance (O&M), and project development services.
SolarMax has gotten the rights to build and support several utility-scale projects in the province of Guizhou, which is in the middle of the country.
Our simple process
Your free consultation:
Take advantage of our solar experts’ free advice. We start the project by calling you to talk about your basic energy needs. When our team knows your goals, they can figure out which solar path is best for you and give you the most cost-effective way to go solar at home.
Reviewing your proposal:
Your utility company will send you a custom solar proposal for a system that will get rid of all the energy you use. This proposal will show you how solar panels will look on your house, what equipment and materials you’ll need, how much you’ll save on your current utility bill, and how much you’ll make back on your investment in solar.
Sign your solar agreement
Once you decide that Solarmax is the right installer for your solar project, you will choose Solarmax as your installer on your Energysage portal. Then, we will send you the agreement to look over and sign. Our agreement includes a 25-year warranty on parts and labor for installation, a 10-year warranty against roof leaks, and a 10-year reimbursement for any lost production that is less than 95% of the system’s annual target production. We take care of all the paperwork, like engineering design, getting permits, and sending the inner-connection documents to the utility company.
Evaluation of the site and project timeline
From signing the agreement to installation can take anywhere from 45 to 60 days, depending on the size of the system, how long it takes for the city to approve it, and how long it takes for a HOA to approve it. After you sign the agreement, we’ll set up a time for the site evaluation within 5 business days. Our technicians will measure the roof lines, check the existing shingles and rafters in the attic, figure out how much shading there is, and look at the existing electrical panel. One of our engineers is then given this information and will design your system.
Get a solar system installed
The project is usually set up in one to two business days. Once the installation is done, your project manager will schedule the city inspection, which usually happens between one and three days after the installation. Once the city inspector gives your project the green light, our utility relations department will send the inner-connection application to the utility company. Most utility companies take 7–14 business days to approve.
Allowance to work and turning on your system!
As soon as you get Permission to Operate (PTO) from your utility company, our customer service department will contact you to set up a monitoring account so you can check on your solar system’s output from your phone, tablet, or computer.
